
Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo opened up on the trauma of losing his son, Angel- describing it as the worst moment of his life- in an explosive interview held by British broadcaster Piers Morgan.
So distraught is the Portuguese captain that he keeps his son’s and father’s ash close to each other. He added that he talks to them all the time as they are a key part of his life.
Ronaldo's father passed away in 2005 due to liver failure.

“His (son's) ashes are with me just like my father’s they are here in my house. It is something I want to hold on to for the rest of my life; I will not throw them into the ocean or sea.
“I have a small church where my daddy and son are. I talk with them every time, and they help me to become a better man, person and father. I am really proud of the messages that they send me, especially my son,” Ronaldo shared.
Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez lost their newborn son during birth on April 18, however, his twin daughter, Bella survived.
The 37-year-old Portuguese forward also revealed how he was able to disclose the news to his other children noting that his eldest son Cristiano was the first one he talked to.
“I had a nice conversation with him (Cristiano), we cried together in his bedroom,” Ronaldo stated.
During that period Premier League clubs paid respect to Ronaldo’s late son with fans rising during the seventh minute of different matches and clapping.
Ronaldo noted that he did not expect to receive so much support from the English community adding that even the Queen's family sent him a letter of condolence.
“I respect them a lot, the English Community because they have been kind to me in that difficult moment of my life and it was spectacular, the way they treated me and my family at that moment. Thank you to the English community,” Ronaldo added.
Ronaldo is currently with the Portugal national team in Qatar as they prepare to start their World Cup campaign on Thursday, November 24, against Ghana.
