
Kenyan female footballers Dorcas Shikobe Nixon and Faith Ivy Omondi on Saturday, December 24, 2022, secured a chance with Indian premier league side Sethu FC.
The Harambee Starlets player, Shikobe, who is also the captain of the national team, played for Cyprus-based side Lakatamia FC before moving to India.
Omondi recently parted ways with the Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League (FKFWPL) side Wadadia FC.

The attacking midfielder has also previously featured for the Friends College Kaimosi team.
Omondi won the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) player of the month award in June this year thanks to her excellent displays.
Shikobe, on the other hand, is one of the most gifted footballers in the African continent - she is not only a top performer but also a leader, on and off the pitch.
She played for a number of KWPL sides including Oserian Ladies and Thika Queens before landing an opportunity to play in Europe.
The 33-year-old has also impressed at the international level since making her maiden appearance in 2016.
The rock-solid defender was part of the Kenyan squad that graced the 2016 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon.
Shikobe, who was born in Butere, Kakamega County, also skippered Harambee Starlets to the CECAFA title in 2019.
In the tournament which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Kenya walloped the hosts 2-0 in the final to lift the prestigious title.
