FKF Vice President Elected In CECAFA Executive Committee

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President Dorris Petra was on Friday, January 6, elected to serve as a board member in the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) executive committee.

Her appointment was confirmed during the CECAFA general assembly held in Zanzibar.

The committee consists of six members from different East African football federations.

Tanzania Football Federation's (TFF) President, Wallace Karia, was re-elected as the head of the regional body for a second term.

Karia was the only candidate who showed interest in the position of President.

Isayas Jira will deputise him from the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF), with the rest of the four serving as executive committee members, including Petra.

Petra will work together with Muyenge Alexandre (Burundi),  Olivier Mugambo (Rwanda) and Augustino Maduot (South Sudan).

Member federation presidents and general secretaries also attended the elective general assembly.

Ahead of the meeting, the secretariat received a proposal from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for CECAFA to have standing committees for Finance, Competitions and Women’s Football development.

Federations under CECAFA include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zanzibar, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Tanzania and Eritrea.
