
Controversial Tanzanian boxer Karim Mandonga popularly known as Mtu Kazi is slated to arrive in Nairobi on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 8 pm for an eagerly awaited fight against Kenya's Daniel Wanyonyi.
Mandonga's bout against Wanyonyi will be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) on Saturday, January 14.
After landing in Kenya, he is expected to attend a media briefing on Thursday, January 12, at 11 am.

Speaking ahead of the crunch fight, Mandonga wittingly stated that he is looking forward to dismantling his opponent.
“Kenyans should know Mandonga will be landing in Kenya. My opponent should prepare for a tough test. I must beat this opponent,” stated Mandonga.
The 43-year-old further claimed that Kenya’s president William Samoei Ruto would be present at the Tsavo Ballroom to support and watch him knock out his rival.
A total of 10 fights have been lined up for Saturday, January 14.
One-time African union middleweight champion Rayton Okwiri will square it out with Tanzania’s Shanani Ally Ndaro while Uganda’s Hudson Muhumuza will battle homeboy Morris Okolla.
The other encounters include Adel Motean versus Lucien Botumbe, Patrick Amote versus Tyrone Oliver, and Cedric Oliver versus Gerald Male.
Jane Kavulani versus Praxides Onyango is the only women’s fight that has been lined up for the weekend.
