Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced the return of the FKF Cup after a one-and-a-half-year break.
In a statement released by the federation on January 13, 2023, interested clubs were asked to register for the tournament that is slated to commence on February 11.
FKF Cup is used to determine the team that will qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.

“Football Kenya Federation wishes to inform you that the FKF Cup 2022/2023 edition will commence on February 11, 2023.,’ part of the statement read.
Clubs planning to take part in the tournament were advised to submit their applications including a participation fee of Ksh30,000 to the FKF account.
The registration deadline was set on January 26, 2023, as the tournament draw is scheduled for February 2.
FKF Cup will be played on one leg knock-out basis Round of 64, Round of 32, Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
The final is scheduled to take place on June 24, 2023.
The last edition of the tournament happened in July 2021 with Gor Mahia winning over bitter rivals AFC Leopards on penalties.
In 2022 the tournament was not held following the government’s decision to disband the FKF which led to Kenya being excluded from FIFA events.
