Arsenal star boy Bukayo Saka and Manchester United mercurial winger Marcus Rashford celebrated their brilliant goals in a similar way.

The Gunners beat United 3-2 at a fully packed Emirates Stadium on Sunday, January 22, with Eddie Nketiah scoring a stoppage-time winner.

The duo's celebrations however left many wondering if they had any symbolic meaning and if the two stars talked before the mouthwatering clash.

Well, it has more to do with the struggles that Rashford experienced during the 2021/2022 season.

In a recent interview, Rashford revealed that he does the celebration to signify a change of mentality.

“It's a completely different energy around the club and the training ground and so far that is all.

“That for a start puts me in a better headspace. And I just feel really motivated. I think I struggled a lot of times, more of mental things.

“And not really, you know my own performance. It was over things off the pitch.

“That is the biggest difference from last season. Too often last season, I wasn't in the right headspace,” he divulged in October 2022.

Football fans were also divided as to why Saka used the same style to celebrate his stunner that left Red Devils Shot stopper David de Gea perplexed.

Others argued that the Arsenal danger man trolled Rashford while others believe he did so to support his friend and English teammate.

However, Saka could have copied Rashford’s celebration to show support since they both endured difficult times last season, particularly after missing penalties at the postponed 2020 UEFA Euros final staged at Wembley Stadium.

The star forwards were abused racially online and that could have impacted their mentality.

Therefore, Saka’s celebration has more to do with support rather than trolling.
