George Aladwa Rescues Vihiga Bullets Stuck in Nairobi

Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa came to the rescue of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) side Vihiga Bullets.

Vihiga Bullets players were stuck in Nairobi after their 1-0 loss to AFC Leopards at the Nyayo Stadium on February 1.

The club had taken to its social pleading to well-wishers for help in raising Ksh30,000 to facilitate the team's transport to Vihiga.

This led to the Makadara MP going into his pocket and rescuing the team with Ksh35,000.

“I couldn’t watch my home team stranded in Nairobi, soccer has a big place in my life, and had to rescue the boys, am hoping to join the management of the team very soon and put in place a sustainable project for the boys,” Aladwa stated.

Vihiga Bullets later took to socials to thank as well as ask its fans to stop the fund drive as everything was sorted out.

“We appreciate all your efforts in making sure the team has left Nyayo Stadium. We have now left Nyayo Stadium for home. We appreciate.

“Now the team has left we can now stop sending any type of donations to any number as we forge a way forward to get genuine till number. Thanks so much for all the kindness accorded,” the club statement read.

Vihiga Bullets was initially sponsored by former governor Moses Akaranga a sponsorship that help the team earn a promotion to the FKF Premier League in the 2021/22 season.

However, since then the team has been struggling financially leading to poor results with the head coach, George Owako, appealing to the current County Government to renew the contract.
