Gor Mahia bagged maximum points after beating Vihiga United 1-0 in a midweek FKF Premier League fixture played at the Mumias Complex on Thursday, May 27.

Gor Mahia ran riot on the hosts from the first whistle with a threatening attempt on goal through Clifton Miheso which was picked up by Mustapha in the 8th minute.

At the Half Hour mark Miheso was at it again causing chaos in a one on one chance that was punched out of play by Vihiga United's  Shot stopper Oduor Mustapha.

Clifton Miheso broke the deadlock for the visitors shortly before they headed to the locker rooms with a long range shot that found its way at the back of the net to make it 1-0.

After the breather K'Ogalo's fine run continued with many attempts on goal that bore no results in the barren half. On the 54th minute Karim Abdoul made a good run that created a chance for the Kenyan heavyweights to go 2-0 up but his shot was saved by Vihiga United goal keeper Mustapha Oduor.

Vihiga United Could not be written off just yet despite being a goal down as Dennis Wafula's attempt to equalise  looked threatening but were in safe hands of Gad Mathews.

Vihiga opted for fresher legs to turn over their day's misfortune as a double substitution of Adeyefa Junior and Richard Igunza came in for  Kevin Omondi and Denis Simiyu  at the 71st minute but still failed to equalise as the game went to a 1-0 result at full time.

The Maximum points for Vaz Pinto's men see's them move up to 5th from 7th in the FKF Premier league standings as Vihiga sink closer to the relegation spot tying 12 points with Western Stima who are in the relegation light.
