Gor Mahia Beat Bidco to Set Up Mashemeji Derby in FKF Shield Finals

Gor Mahia FC set up a mouthwatering FKF Cup final with AFC Leopards when they edged Bidco United 4-1 on penalties during Sunday’s semi-final clash at the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi. 

The underdogs Bidco United proved to be a hard nut to crack when they posed a massive threat on the Kenyan heavyweights in a 1-1 draw at full time.

Kenneth Muguna took Gor in front after only four minutes through a well curved freekick after Alpha Onyango was brought down outside the box. 

Their lead lasted only for 15 minutes after David Orem equalised, connecting Steven Waruru’s header past Gad Matthews. 

Gor were reduced to ten men with full back Philemon Otieno sent to the locker room after a foul play, with only 5 minutes to the final whistle. 

The final fixture will be played on 4th July at a venue that is yet to be confirmed by the federation as the winner will walk away with Ksh2 million. 

The winner will also get the ticket to represent Kenya in the CAF confederations cup with the team which will be in the summit of the league will play in the CAF champions league next season .

Both AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia look forward to securing double titles this season as they are still in the FKF premier league summit race.
