Ulinzi Stars too Powerful for Bandari, Vihiga United Stun Nzoia Sugar

Ulinzi Stars FC earned a perfect revenge against Bandari as they beat the homeside 3-1 in a Betking Premier League match played at the Mbaraki Stadium on Tuesday June 15, 2021.

John Kago and Boniface Onyango scored first half goals and Omar Boraafya netting the third against his former employers to yet another home defeat. Bandari got their consolation through a penalty via William Wadri.

Bandari are now winless in six matches and coach Andre Cassa Mbungo blamed individual mistakes cost them in the game.

“Our strikers missed a number of scoring chances and the backline mistakes enabled our opponents to score their goals,” said Mbungo. 

Coach Benjamin Nyangweso has said that the result was good for the team and it will help the Soldiers 

“We are now preparing for our next fixture against Sofapaka in Wundanyi which we’ll need to also secure the three points,” said Nyangweso. 

Ulinzi are 8th spot on 27 points while Bandari dropped to 6th on 28 points.

At the Sudi stadium, Vihiga United registered an important win away from home,defeating Nzoia Sugar 2-1 in Bungoma. The result lifted Vihiga to 15th on 15 points, easing their relegation worries at least for now while Nzoia maintained 14th place with two points ahead of Vihiga.
