After an impressive performance at the Barthes Cup, Kenya Under-20 skipper John Baraka will be set to finally make his debut with Kabras Sugar when they face off against Top Fry Nakuru RFC at Moi Show grounds in Nakuru on July 17th. The eighth man who sealed Chipu's win against Madagascar in the Barthes Cup final with an outstanding try has clearly earned his way up. Showing leadership to the Under-20 squad, Baraka caught the eyes of many as he kept the teams spirits high in clenching the title.
Baraka will be joined by fellow Under 20 players, Collins Indeche and William Opaka who will both start on the bench. Kabras have also been firmly boosted by 6 players who were away on International duty. The return sees Skipper, Dan Sikuta, Jone Kubu, Brian Juma, George Nyambua, Barry Robinson, Bryceson Agesa, Brian Tanga, Ephraim Oduor and Eugene Sifuna but only six will be in the starting lineup.
In the team's front row pack, Joseph Odera and Hillary Mwanjiwa keep their positions and are joined by Eugene Sifuna who comes in for Teddy Akala. George Nyambua will replace Thomas Simiyu as Kevin Wekesa and Jeanson Musoga remain at open flanker and eighth man respectively. At scrum half will be none other than Brian Tanga as the fly half position goes to Ntabeni Dukisa. Felix Ayange, Alfred Orege and Walter Okoth keep their places on the wings and are joined by Bryceson Agesa and Kenya Simbas new star Jone Kubu.
