Karim Benzema will be in the trial chambers once again after his case is set for hearing  in October. The Real Madrid striker was accused of blackmailing his former France teammate Mathieu Valbuena back in 2015.

Benzema allegedly put pressure on his teammate to pay off blackmailers who were threatening to release a sex tape in which the Olympiacos Fc midfielder appeared. The striker claimed that he was only trying to help his teammate.

Valbuena decided to forward the case to the authorities instead of paying off the blackmailers.

On Wednesday the Versaille’s prosecutor's office confirmed that Benzema will face trials regarding that case as from 20 -22nd of October. Benzema through his Instagram handle reacted to the dates set on his trial expressing how tired he has been of this case that has taken long to be heard. The Real Madrid star on his instagram said 'Yes finally here we go ,Let the masquerade end forever.'

The allegations on the Striker has cost him his spot on the French national side Les Bleus after head coach Didier Deschamps dropped him from the squad in 2015 and thus missed out on the Euro 2016 where France put up a solid performance that sailed them to the finals but lost to Portugal.

He still missed out on the French side that won the World Cup back in 2018 despite an outstanding form back in Madrid. The striker had made 81 appearances for France before Didier Deschamps halted his career on the national team in 2015.
