Christian Eriksen is Back At Inter Milan

Christian Eriksen

29 year old Danish midfielder, Christian Eriksen made a return to Inter Milan's training grounds and was received with a much anticipated warm welcome. The sensational midfielder had suffered a cardiac arrest when Denmark played their opener match against Finland in the Euros 2020. Subsequently, Eriksen had a medical emergency response team attend to him on the field of play; something that got the sporting world on its feet as Fans prayed to the wellbeing of the player.

Releasing a statement on their official website, Inter confirmed: "This morning Christian Eriksen paid a visit to the Suning Training Centre in Appiano Gentile. The Danish midfielder met the club directors, the coach, team-mates and all of the staff present. Eriksen is doing well and is in excellent physical and mental shape. He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up. The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up to date throughout the process."

At the training grounds, fellow teammates showed their love and support for Eriksen by presenting him with his No.24 Jersey set for the new season. Currently, it is still unclear if Eriksen will continue his career after being fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a heart-starting device. An ICD is a device connected to the heart by wires and sends an electrical pulse to correct irregular rhythms. For him and his fellow teammates, what matters right now is that he is healthy and kicking after suffering a life threatening ordeal.
