This has been the case for one football fan who has on three occasions spend close to Ksh500,000 to enable his son to see Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, play.

However, every time he buys a ticket or travels, Ronaldo us either benched or unavailable for the match.

In 2020 Chris paid Ksh234,469 (£1,550) to watch Ronaldo at Juventus but the Portuguese striker was rested for that match.

In March 2022, Chris reported that he spent Ksh226,909 (£1,500) on hospitality and hotels for the Manchester derby, however, the 37-year-old missed the match due to an injury.
