
Malkia Strikers assistant captain Sharon Chepchumba has revealed what pushed them to beat Cameroon at the World Championship.
Speaking to BBC Sports Africa, Chepchumba, who is popularly known as Chumba, noted that they had to win the match in order to earn their respect.
Cameroon and Kenya are rivals having swapped the African titles in recent years with Cameroon holding the title in the past three years.

"I don't like it when Cameroon is beating us, so I just had to put up my efforts and make sure we won and get the respect.
"We've been training hard for this, so I didn't want to lose this match because it will determine so many things in my life and my team-mates' lives," Chumba stated.
On proceeding to the quarter-finals Chumba noted that it would be a big dream for the team and it would require them to push harder for the dream to actualise.
Chumba exuded confidence in her squad and noted that the team effort against Cameroon was ‘magical’.
The Malkia assistant captain added that the team was able to win the match because everyone followed what they had discussed before the mouth-watering clash.
Malkia Strikers will play Italy on Thursday, September 29, before they play their final pool match against Puerto Rico on Saturday, October 1.
Kenya requires a win to proceed to the quarters. Their match against Italy will be difficult as the Italians are the current Nations League champions.
The Kenyan team is currently fourth positioned in their six-team pool, with a top-four finish guaranteeing a place in the quarter-finals.
Malkia Strikers were humbled by Netherlands before another thunderous loss to Belgium.
