
Malkia Strikers trounced continental rivals Cameroon on Wednesday night at the ongoing 2022 FIVB World Championships co-hosted by the Netherlands and Poland.
The Paul Bitok-coached side won the match in straight sets (25-20, 27-25, 25-19) to bag their first win of the tournament.
Speaking after the match, a delighted Bitok thanked his players for the dominant display.

“Congratulations Malkia Strikers! Your sincere efforts and hard work during the match are indeed highly appreciated.
“You should be proud of yourself. Congratulations to the technical team and to you, all,” read a statement by the former Kenyan international.
The team was later hosted by Tom Horn, the mayor of Epe, Oene and Vaassen and the Kenyan flag was flagged in front of the City’s office.
Malkia Strikers' win over the reigning African champions is a morale-boosting one since they lost two of their opening matches at the tournament.
They lost 3-0 to the Netherlands on September 23 before being hammered by Belgium by a similar margin.
The Kenyan queens are scheduled to play European champions Italy on Thursday, September 29 at 1900hrs East African Time.
Malkia Strikers' preparation for the global showpiece was hampered by numerous challenges including financial constraints.
