Harambee Starlets defender Vivian Nasaka Makokha has signed a one year deal with Turkish-based side Hakkaragucu Spor.

The 22-year-old was unveiled on Thursday, October 6, alongside Zambian international Margaret Belemu.

Belemu who ditched Chinese club Shanghai Shengli was part of The She-polopolo squad that beat Kenya 3-2 on aggregate to knock them out of the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualifiers.

Makokha played an influential role in Harambee Starlets Olympic qualifiers campaign, helping the national side reach the fifth round of the tournament.

She also helped her former side Vihiga Queens clinch their fourth consecutive Kenya Women’s Premier League (KWPL) title in June this year.

The decorated footballer was also part of the Starlets squad that clinched the 2019 CECAFA  women’s title in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

After completing the move, Nasaka now joins another Kenyan star  Mwanahalima “Dogo” Adam who signed for Hakkaragucu Spor in October, 2021.

Hakkaragucu Spor is a club that is based in the Eastern Turkish town of Hakkari. It was founded in 1989.

Nasaka’s  move comes at a time when most female footballers are ditching the national league for foreign ones due to the existing FIFA ban and the failures of stakeholders to solve the problems ailing the Kenyan football industry.

More than 10 Harambee Starlets players are currently playing for overseas clubs, particularly Tanzania’s Simba Queens.

Some of the Harambee Starlets currently playing for Simba Queens include Corazone Kwamboka, Jentrix Shikangwa and Bertha Omita.
