Kibiwott Kandie will return for the Valencia Half Marathon on October 23 after two years.
He set the second-fastest time in a half marathon with a time of 57:32 the last time he graced the marathon.
His return to the race, scheduled for October 23, was confirmed by the organisers on October 7.

Kandie’s half marathon record was broken by Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo at the Lisbon Half Marathon on November 21.
Kandie will battle Uganda's Abel Kipchumba to regain his title.
The 26-year-old will be joined by fellow compatriots Margaret Chelimo and Vicoty Chepngeno, who will participate in the women's event.
Chelimo, who is the 10,000m World bronze medalist, has a personal best of 5:26, while Chepngeno has a personal best of 65:03.
According to Marc Roig, the Race Manager, there is a chance that either in the men's or women's race, a world record will be set.
“World records cannot be achieved every year, and Valencia’s level featuring the world’s second-best record for males and the world record for females means we should demand a lot but not pressure ourselves with new world records.
“I am convinced that the quality of the elite that will run this half-marathon will be news around the world again thanks to its high standards,” Marc Roig stated.
