Juventus kept its Champions League qualification hopes alive by beating Serie A champions Inter Milan 3-2 on Saturday, May 15, while Atalanta clinched a place in UEFA Champions league competition.

Star forward Cristiano Ronaldo took his second chance from the rebound in the 24th minute after a poor first effort at the penalty spot while Juan Cuadrado scored twice for the Turin Side, converting a penalty kick behind the net in the 88th minute. Juventus rose to fourth place ahead of their final game at Bologna next weekend.

Antonio Conte’s Inter squad had already ended Juventus’ record run of nine straight Serie A titles, and they could have ended his former team’s chances of reaching the Champions League as well.

The Italian Giants were at the risk of missing out on Champions League next season due to a tight league standing position in the Italian Serie A that saw them placed in fourth position - two points ahead of Napoli.

Andre Pirlo's men are, however, not out of the woods yet as they will be hoping for a favor from Fiorentina against Napoli on Sunday, May 16.

With the fighting spirit showcased by Juventus yesterday they still are facing a rough season and things might get worse for the club with Serie A threatening to lock them out of the coming season due to their involvement in the European Super League.

UEFA will be expected to punish the Italian club with a 2 season ban in the Champions league competition next season if they do not withdraw from the European Super League project.
