
The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is set to take place on October 30, with some big names battling for the title.
One of the top names on the list is Kenyan Martin Kosgey, who is referred to as ‘Mr Frankfurt’.
Kosgey earned the title ‘Mr Frankfurt’ due to his consistently outstanding performances at the event.

He will be featuring for a fifth time at the Frankfurt Marathon, hoping to win the title for the first time.
In his previous attempts, Kosgey finished second in 2016 1nd 2018 and fourth in 2017 and 2019.
The 2022 Frankfurt Marathon will see Ethiopia's Gebru Redahgne make his debut, having only competed outside his country for the first time in 2021.
Gebru is not only the fastest but also the youngest athlete on the men’s field.
Another Kenyan who will be participating in the race is 29-year-old Charles Ndiema, who has a current personal best of 2:08:12.
Ndiema discovered the Frankfurt Marathon after watching the race on YouTube three years ago, leading to him creating a long-term goal.
Ethiopia's Betesfa Getahun, originally listed, will miss the race after cancelling his participation at short notice.
If he would have participated, he would have been the fastest in the men’s field with 2:05:28.
