
The Kenya men’s national fifteens team, Simba's, received Ksh 1.5 million from its partner and sponsors ahead of the RWC 2023 Final Qualification Tournament.
Simbas will play their first match on Sunday, November 6, against the USA in Dubai at 3:00 pm EAT.
The 15s team will play the crucial games in Dubai as they seek qualification for the 2022 Rugby World Cup.

Philip Kyriazi, Teita Sisal Managing Director, noted that the company was proud to support the team in the quest to feature at the Rugby World Cup in 2023.
“On behalf of Teita Sisal Estate and the Hildana Lodge, we are delighted to continue the investment in the sport of rugby in the country. Ours is not just an investment, it is a commitment to society through transforming and developing the sport of rugby in Kenya.
“The future of the game has to be promoted to ensure consistency in performance/growth of the game to taking the team to the Rugby World Cup in 2023,” Philip Kyriazi stated.
Oduor Ganglia, Kenya Rugby Union Chairman, noted that the money would help boost the team's morale as they begin the Final Qualification Tournament.
He added that the partnership between Simba and the organisation helps take the team's performance to new heights.
“This continued investment by Hildana Lodge is a clear demonstration of the passion, pride and belief of the Hildana Lodge team in the Simba's team which continues to bring honor and pride to our nation with their exemplary performances,” Oduor Gangla noted.
Earlier, Simba team captain Daniel Sikuta assured the fans that the team would do its best to try to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2023.
