Kenya international Ayub Masika Timbe scored a brace as Vissel Kobe beat Tokushuma Vortis 3-0 in the Japan Cup group stage match played on Wednesday afternoon.

Hotaru Yamaguchi put the visitors ahead in the second minute of the game with a well taken goal in which they could hold on for the rest of the first half.

Timbe who has recently been left out of the Harambee Stars squad announced himself on the stage when he expertly scored Vissel’s second in the 52nd minute of the game. His brace came in the 93rd minute of the game as Atsuhiro Miura’s charges saw off the match comfortably to sail to the next round.

Four days ago, the Kenya international set up former Arsenal and Barcelona defender Thomas Varmaelen to score a last gasp equalizer that enabled Vissel secure a draw against Cerezo Osaka. The winger now has two assists and two goals for his side.
