Enigma 69, a player who made an appearance in Gerald Pique’s recently launched Kings League has sparked debate online.

Fans have been scratching their heads trying to guess the identity of the La Liga star who wore a mask during the game.

According to Pique, the player wore a mask, covered his body so his tattoos won't be seen, and hid his name because his club and agent had warned him not to take part in the league.

Pique’s league has a rule called “Player 12” that allows clubs to invite a guest player during match days.

Enigma 69, who played for Sergio Kun Aguero’s managed side XBuyer team, was, however, a disappointment throughout the match as he neither scored nor make an assist throughout the match.

Some of the fans suggested that Enigma 69 was former Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon with others arguing that it was ex-Barcelona and Liverpool goal machine Luis Suarez.

However, it appears that his identity is Nano Mesa, a former Cadiz player.

Aguero gave a hint, stating that Enigma 69 was a former Cadiz star.

Some of the other stars who have previously made guest appearances during the league include former Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez popularly known as Chicharito and ex-Spain international David Capdevilla.

The Kings League is unique from other kinds of leagues since it features 12 teams with each team being allowed to field only 7 players.

It currently has more than 300,000 followers on Twitter having only been launched on Sunday, January 1, 2023, and is expected to run until Sunday, March 12, 2023.
