
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced a decision to provisionally suspend 15 individuals accused of match-fixing.
In a statement signed by FKF CEO Barry Otieno, dated Friday, January 13, 2023, the federation received confidential reports showing the involvement of players and officials in match-fixing.
The fifteen individuals affected by the provisional suspension include thirteen players and two coaches.

“Football Kenya Federation has received confidential reports alleging the involvement of various players and officials in match-fixing activities.
“In an effort to protect the integrity of the league, in line with the Federation’s zero-tolerance policy on match-fixing, the Federation has with immediate effect provisionally suspended 15 individuals pending the investigations of the matter by the FIFA & FKF’s integrity department," part of the statement read.
Among those affected by the provisional suspension include seven currently active players including two players from Tusker FC and Zoo FC.
Premier League side Tusker FC's Isaac Kipyegon was the only currently active premier league player affected by the suspension.
Other active players affected include Geoffrey Gichana and Brian Lumumba of Zoo FC, Sammy Sindani Sabiri, Stanislaus Akiya Munyasa, and William Odunga of Silibwet Leons FC, and Dominic Ouma Okoth of Kericho Rovers FC).
Two coaches including Wilis Otieno of Zetech University, and Kericho FC's Du Monde Selenga Mangili are among the suspended individuals.
Former Zoo FC players including Hamidu Kwizera Lucas, Vincent Misikhu, Johnstone Ligare, and Daniel Kiptoo were equally implicated in the racket.
Nairobi City Stars' former player Michael Idovolo Madoya and Dennis Monda a former Vihiga United player are the other affected individuals in the scandal.
FKF has cautioned all its members to avoid any form of sporting contact with the individuals during their suspension period.
