
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty of seven of the nine charges against him.
According to a report by Sky Sports News, after 13 days of deliberations, the jury at Chester Crown Court failed to reach a verdict on two other charges against the French player.
The 28-year-old will know his fate in seven days after the Crown Prosecution Service was issued with seven days to decide whether to pursue a retrial on the remaining two charges.

Louis Saha Matturie, his co-accused was found not guilty by the jury of three counts of rape relating to two teenagers.
It was also reported that as the verdict was being read out Mendy held his head in his hands.
Manchester City also issued a statement on Friday, January 13, 2023, after the verdict from the court noting that it was not in place to comment further.
“Manchester City FC notes the verdict from Chester Crown Court today, where a jury has found Benjamin Mendy not guilty of seven charges. The jury is hung on two charges and the trial is now over.
“Given there are open matters related to this case, the Club is not in a position to comment further at this time,” the statement from the Cityzens read.
Mendy remains suspended as a Manchester City player after his arrest in August 2021.
He stopped receiving payment from the club in September 2021 with his contract expected to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season.
