Harambee Stars forward Masoud Juma has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Faisaly FC on a season-long move.

Juma joins the side which plays in the Saudi Professional League from Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida, which he signed for in 2021.

Al-Faisaly confirmed the move on their social media platforms.

“The club's management is finalizing the procedures for the transfer of the Kenyan player, "Jumaa Masood", on loan until the end of the current season” read part of the statement.

Juma’s move to one of the rapidly growing football leagues in the world did not come easily.

The 26-year-old had to overcome numerous obstacles and work hard to catch Al-Faisaly's attention.

His inspiring journey began in a little-known village in Isiolo - a town located in the northern part of Kenya.

The ex-Sony Sugar attacker began his career at Tumaini Primary School before proceeding to Isiolo Barracks Secondary School where he broke into the limelight.

He helped the post-primary learning institution clinch the Coca-Cola Inter-military Schools championships title in 2014, bagging the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the process.

Juma’s talent soon caught the eye of Shabana FC scouts and earned him a move to the Kisii-based club.

His staller performance at Shabana, scoring five goals in three months drew comparisons to legendary Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech.

The powerful striker then moved on to play for a number of Kenyan clubs including Bandari FC, Nakumatt FC, and Kariobangi Sharks before landing a move to Swedish club AIK Fotboll in 2017.

He would later join South African clubs Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits in January 2018 and July 2021 respectively.

At the international level, Juma received his maiden national team (Under 23) call-up in 2015 ahead of the All Africa Games qualifiers.

Sadly, he did not join the squad after injuring himself during a Kenya Premier League match.

However, it did not take long before he made his Harambee Stars debut playing his first international match in 2017 against Sierra Leone during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

It was a debut to forget since Harambee Stars were beaten 2-1 by the West African nation, with Juma missing a couple of clear chances.

His under-par performance that fateful day made him come under a lot of criticism from the Kenyan fanbase.

Two months later, Juma scored a goal in his second senior appearance for Harambee Stars in a match against Mauritania.

Juma has made 14 appearances for the national team scoring five times in the process.
