Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is set to roll out its second Covid-19 vaccinations for all Premier League clubs but the officials will not be involved.
After a successful administration of the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to all clubs, the federation through a statement informed the same clubs that it was ready to conduct the second Covid-19 vaccination exercise for all clubs within Nairobi County.
According to FKF CEO Barry Otieno, only 25 members from each club in the 18-team league will get the second dose starting from June 11 because of shortages of the vaccine.
The issuing of the vaccines will be affected as from Friday, June 11, 2021, at Kasarani Stadium between 9 am and 3 pm.
Due to acute shortage of the Covid-19 vaccine, priority will only be given to the 25 players who received the first dose of the vaccine.
The second vaccination has come at the right time when the federation is rushing to finish the FKF Premier League, which has already been halted once, owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
The second jab that the players would be receiving is expected to aid in resumption of normalcy in the sporting activities nationwide.
With FKF being the ringleaders in sports resumption across the country other federations and unions will be expected to facilitate the completion of the vaccination process to their players.
