Gor Mahia’s Clifton Miheso is expected to sign a two-year deal with Tusker FC. This is after he declined to renew his contract with Gor, citing that all his pending dues had not been paid.
Miheso joined Gor from NSL side Kenya Police and signed a 2-year deal with the Champions back in August 2019.
His confirmed transfer comes after Wazito FC signed Gor’s winger, Boniface Omondi last year.
The winger was signed because of his consistency having won the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup experience where he represented Gor Mahia.
"I want to thank God for the opportunity to join Wazito FC. I know that it is a good side because I have faced them in the league. The goal is to help the team lift titles, and I know that it is possible,” stated the 25-year-old player.
K’Ogalo’s striker Tito Okello is also set to leave the club next week at the end of the season.
His departure from the club has been linked to pending unpaid dues.
Okello stated that he had gone for many months without pay, hence his opting out of the club.
"I'm fed up with the situation I'm in. The club owes me a lot of money, and if they don't pay me, I'm going to Uganda after our last game and won't come back again. They should just give my release letter when the season is done," stated the South Sudanese striker.
With the club’s financial constraints, the treasure Dolphine Odhiambo stated that the club has gained some traction in settling dues owed to players after pocketing Ksh 2m from shirt sponsors Betsafe.
“We used the amount to settle dues including the pending salaries owed to players and the technical staff,” said Odhiambo.
“The players received half of their monthly salaries while members of the technical bench received a quarter of the amount owed to them,” she added.
Gor Mahia, which is currently leading in the KPL with 61 points, is scheduled to play Nzoia Sugar which is at the fourteenth position with a total of 29 points today at 3 pm.
