The eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will be facing Yordenis Ugas on Sunday, August 21 at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the WBA Welterweight title.

The match initially was supposed to be Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr. However, Spence suffered a retina tear, making Ugas his replacement.

The Filipino star who registered 146 pounds ahead of the match and Cuba’s Ugas, who registered 147 pounds, expressed their excitement and confidence in the match.

Pacquiao has vowed to produce an explosive victory against Ugas.

"I never take this fight lightly," said Pacquiao.

"Of course, I don't want to be overconfident for this fight, but I want to make sure that tomorrow night, we're going to have the victory, and the fans will be happy.

"Tomorrow night I will do my best. I'll give my best to the fans and, of course, to my country. This fight will be dedicated to the Philippine people,”concluded Pacquiao.

Ugas stated that all the respect he has for Pacquiao would be finished once they enter the boxing ring.

"Being in the ring with a legend like Manny Pacquiao, I have a lot of respect for him, so I'm very excited, "said Ugas.

"But all respect is finished after we get in the ring tomorrow.

"I'm definitely very emotional and very excited for this opportunity, and I have the belt.

"Whoever wins tomorrow, gets the belt, but right now I'm the champion, and I'm ready." He said.

With Pacquiao coming off an impressive split-decision victory over Keith Thurman in July 2019, and Ugas being a world champion with a split-decision win of his own over Abel Ramos in September, this will definitely be a match that will go down in history.
