
Kariobangi Sharks FC on Wednesday, August 25 announced the departure of 11 first team players from the team.
Sharks coach, William Muluya says he is rebuilding a new team with the focus shifting to the youth team.
"We have decided to let some players join other teams. We are going to let a good number of players so that we can also give the young ones from our youth teams a chance to impress. I am ready to work again for the next two years to build a solid team again. I built the current team from scratch, and I am willing to do it again,” stated Muluya.
The released key players either have offers on the table while others will begin the process of looking for a new employer.
The likes of goalkeeper Brian Bwire and right-back Daniel Sakari will be heading to Tusker FC while defender John Kuol is said to be relocating to Australia.
Those released are Robert Onyango,Peter Oudu,James Mazembe, Ibrahim Ochieng’,Kuol Chol,Peter Lwasa, Ibrahim Kitwai, Daniel Sakari, Boniface Mwangemi,Joshua Onyango and Brian Bwire.
Kariobangi Sharks which finished 5th in the recently concluded FKF Premier League is set to commence the rebuilding process from scratch ahead of the 2020/21 FKF Premier League campaign that starts in a month’s time.
