On Monday, August 30, FKF Premier League released a list of nominees for the Young Player Award that will take place on September 11, 2021 at the Safari Park Hotel Nairobi.
The nominees include Tusker FC star striker Henry Meja who was key for The Brewers success during the 2020/21 season, AFC Leopards utility defender Lewis Bandi who proved to be an instrumental player for Ingwe on his debut season.
Vihiga United’s Lawrence Luvanda who has been linked with a move to Tusker FC and Gor Mahia’s defender Frank Odhiambo who is currently part of the team that will play Uganda on Thursday at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi in a World Cup qualifier.
Other youngsters who make the cut are Kakamega Homeboyz defender Sylvester Owino, Western Stima midfielder Rodgers Ouma and Sofapaka winger Ambrose Sifuna closing the list of nominees.
The award seeks to reward young players who were instrumental for their teams during the just-concluded campaign.
