Transfer Deadline Day Done Deals

Ronaldo

The football transfer market is closed and done after yesterday's (deadline day) final deals were made. Manchester United completed the most high-profile move of the closing day, officially confirming the return of Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year contract. Crossing over to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea landed Saul Niguez and Arsenal signed Takehiro Tomiyasu minutes before the window slammed shut.

Daniel James finally became a Leeds player on Tuesday, leaving Man United in a deal worth £25million. In Spanish league LA Liga, Real Madrid signed the highly coveted Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga after missing out on their top target Kylian Mbappe. Barcelona on the other hand ended their window by offloading yet another star, with Antoine Griezmann returning to Atletico Madrid on loan with an option to buy.

Salomon Rondon sealed a reunion with Rafa Benitez, as his move from Chinese club Dalian to Everton was confirmed. Rondon signed a two-year contract with Everton. Hector Bellerin has left Arsenal to join Real Betis still in the Spanish top flight. The right-back has struggled for regular football in north London and had been keen on a move away from the Emirates.

Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet will spend the 2021/22 season on loan at Serie A side Torino, subject to international clearance. Westham nabbed another Czech player, from another Moscow club, in midfielder Alex Kral from Spartak. Arsenal yet again secured a £1million for Japanese full back Takehiro Tomiyasu. Indeed the transfer window did live up to its hype.
