Kenya Morans player Taylor Ongwae has been named the Danish Defensive Player of the Year.
Ongwae was awarded after an impressive show in which he helped his club Bakken Bears win the Danish Cup.
Ongwae scored seven points and had 10 rebounds with an assist to inspire Bakken Bears beat Horsens 80-82 in the final.
In his third season with the Danish giants, Ongwae has been instrumental for the champions on the defensive end.
Ongwae performance at Bakken sums up a stellar season for him, taking his fine form to club off a great performance for the Kenya Morans at the Afrobasket qualifiers played in Cameroon in February this year.
He is best remembered for his buzzer-beating jump shot over Angola earned Kenya a historic slot in the 2021 Afrobasket Championship to be held in Rwanda later on this year.
