On Tuesday, September 8, Tusker FC confirmed the official signing of goalkeeper Brian Bwire and defender Daniel Sakari both from Kariobangi Sharks.

The Brewers’ chairman Daniel Aduda expressed delight in the signing of the two players.

“We really feel delighted to be bringing on board national team players who have gathered immense experience. Their presence, especially as we head to play continental football, will be a huge asset to the coaching department,” stated Aduda.

Kariobangi’s former keeper, Bwire, stated that he received a warm welcome during his first training with his new team.

“I joined the team in training for the first time today, and I really felt welcome, and I didn't feel like a visitor at all. Now it is about getting down to work and putting in the effort,” said Bwire.

“I feel delighted to be making another step in my career. Tusker is a big team, and they will be playing continental football this season, and I am really looking forward to it,” added the goalkeeper.

Sakari also highlighted his excitement to be playing with the Brewers.

“It is a really great honour for me to be coming to the club. I am coming to a club which is the reigning champion, and I already feel like a champion. I have my work cut out because there are a lot of competitions in the team, but that is what makes a player better,” stated Sakari.

Tusker FC has also completed the acquisition of midfielder Shami Kibwana from Kakamega Homeboyz for an unspecified period.

Kibwana expressed hopes in making a better performance while playing for Tusker.

“I had a good period with Homeboyz last season where I scored goals despite battling injuries all season. I hope to do even better, especially if I can avoid injuries. I want to keep scoring goals for Tusker,” stated Kibwana.

Kibwana, Sakari and Bwire join the rest of the Brewers’ team in their final training session before they travel to Djibouti for the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Arta Solar 7.
