Sensational Tusker FC teenager Henry Meja on Thursday March 4 2021 scooped the Football Federation of Kenya Premier League (FKF PL) Player of the Month Award for January, in a brief ceremony at the Ruaraka stadium, Nairobi.

Meja, 19, was outstanding in the month, scoring four goals and providing one assist to propel the former champions to the summit of the league.

His goals came against Kakamega Homeboyz, a brace  against Kariobangi Sharks and one against Zoo Kericho.

He was awarded with a cash reward of Ksh 50,000/- and a personalised trophy by the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) selecting committee and representatives from the FKF PL.

Meja burst into the limelight in 2018 as a form 3 student at the famous Kakamega High School.

He was voted as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the national school ball games in the same year before making his mark at the Senator Cleophas Malala Super Cup in which he helped his side Lirhembe Arsenal lift the cup. 

He has scored eight goals so far in this season’s FKF Premier League.
