Star Setter to Boost Malkia Strikers Squad.

Volleyball star Jane Wacu jetted in the country on Wednesday from Seychelles where she features  her club Anse Royale. She is expected to join the national women's volleyball team Malkia Strikers who are currently in a bubble training camp as they focus on the Olympic Games in July.

Her arrival from club duty will see her undergo a mandatory Covid 19 test before she can join her teammates at the training camp.Her addition to the Malkia strikers squad will be a big boost to the entire team where she brings to the table a whole lot of experience in the game as she has served the national side for 16 years. 

Despite her longtime service to the nation the star setter will be expected to earn her jersey and spot in the starting team as she faces stiff competition among other setters who include Kenya Prisons setter Joy Luseneka and KCB's Immaculate Nekesa.

The Paul Bitok Coached side is expected to have a high intensity training camp both in and out of the country before running for the top spot at the summer olympics in Tokyo. The training camp will see the current 20 man squad being axed to 16 who will therefore have an outing to South America where they will have another training camp as from 1st May.

Before going out to Brazil the girls will receive training from some foreign tacticians who head coach Paul Bitok believes would be of a great boost to the skill set of the lassess ahead of their olympic games in July.The High performance coaches comprises of Marcelo Vitorino de Souza, Luizomar de Moura, Roberto Opice Neto and Jefferson Arosti.

After their Brazil tour the Malkia Strikers will head to Turkey in mid June where they will have a ten day camp as they await for the olympic games in Japan where Kenyan athletes are expected to arrive and hold a three week final preparation campaign before taking part at the Olympics.
