From Mbappe to Paul Pogba, teamkenya.co.ke takes a look at the players who will be available to sign for free once their contracts next summer.

Kylian Mbappe

The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga started from the previous 2021 summer transfer period.

As the French international heads into the final year of his contract, Real Madrid had earlier on made an offer in the region of €200 million and it was rejected by Paris Saint-Germain.

By rejecting the transfer offer from Madrid PSG fell at a risk of losing him for free in 2022.

Madrid are confident they will finally get their man and hopefully have him holding up the shirt next summer.

It's yet to be seen whether PSG will convince Mbappe who seems unsettled at the French club as after the transfer period closed, he confirmed that he expressed his desire to move on, but also dismissed any suggestion that he rejected several chances to sign fresh terms with the Ligue 1 club.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba, who is in the final year of his contract with the Manchester club, has been linked to clubs such as Juventus and the Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been vocal in stating the high possibility of the midfielder leaving the English side.

The agent recently has come out and made a statement regarding the Frenchman’s future noting that as his contract ends in June 2022, they shall hold talks with Manchester United adding that Paul still loves Turin and There is a chance that he will return to Juventus, but it also depends on Juventus plans.

Ousman Dembele

Dembele moved to the Catalan club from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €105m in 2017. However, he has struggled since with a string of injuries, including a hamstring that has limited his season.

Since the switch from the Bundesliga, Dembele has only managed 81 league appearances with 18 goals and 14 assists.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is asking for a rise in his salary from €12 million to €20m.

Reports claim that the France international could decide on a move away from the club, with the Premier League cited as a probable option

Lorenzo Insigne

Napoli captain Insigne is out of contract at the end of June 2022, and latest talks on an extension have stalled.

Several clubs are following his situation with a view to potentially signing him on a free transfer next summer, with Inter foremost among them.

It remains to be seen if the winger will find an agreement with his club on a new deal or not, and if not whether the Nerazzurri will win the chase for his signature, but for now he is not concerning himself with these matters and only considers himself to be a Napoli player.

Niklas Sule

Niklas Sule is probably the only player left in the Bayern Munich squad that has less than one year left on the current deal.

The German defender was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer, but a transfer never materialized into an offer from the last season’s Champions League winners.

Previous reports state that Bayern has put contract talks with Sule on hold.
