Harambee Stars left back Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma has once again been named in the Swedish top tier Team of the Week.
This was after he helped his team AIK win a match where he provided an assist and kept a clean sheet in his last match before the international break.
The match that took place on Sunday, November 7, 'Marcelo' helped his team bag the first goal with a great assist from the right wing.
Marcelo dribbled from the middle taking on the defenders before slotting in a good pass into the box finding his teammate Nicolas Marcelo Stefanelli, who put the ball in the opposition's net.
The goal was followed by other goals from Zachary Elbouzedi and Nabil Bahoui in the second half to seal the three points.
With the 3-0 victory AIK rose back to third place on the league standings with 50 points just four behind leading Malmo.
Marcelo has received a call up to Harambee Stars where they will be facing Uganda and Rwanda in their FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying group games.
The prolific defender has played 26 games so far this season netting one goal and has provided a total of three assists for his team in their domestic league.
Ouma who signed for the Swedish side in 2020 is currently in his second year at the team following a four-year deal contract.
In 2016 Ouma claimed the Kenyan Premier League young player award while playing for Gor Mahia.
