Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa has been arrested by the DCI, TeamKenya can confirm.

The federation chief who was ousted from office by the Ministry of Sports on Thursday was whisked away by the DCI at the Safari Park Hotel where he had gone to pay a courtesy call to Harambee Stars team that had just jetted in from Kampala Uganda.

In October, Mwendwa had moved to court to stop an inquiry after complaints had been filed against him

The High Court had dismissed Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa's attempt to stop the investigation over allegations of misappropriation of funds at Kandanda House.

Mwendwa, through his lawyer Tom Ojienda, had moved to court to stop the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) from arresting him.

Sources have told TeamKenya that Mwendwa was picked up by six men in plain clothes DCI who then drove away to an unknown destination.
