Kenyan Men’s volleyball champions General Service Unit have sailed through to the quarterfinals of the African Club Championships after beating Espoire from Congo 3-0 (25-11,25-14,25-12).
The early Tuesday fixture was a must win after they lost their opening fixture to five-time African champions Zamalek. The Paramilitary side redeemed themselves on Monday evening when they beat Nigeria Customs 3-1(23-25,25-16,25-22,25-18) in a match played at the Sidi Bousad Indoor Arena in Tunis.
The win has all assured GSU of finishing second in Pool D behind five-time champions Zamalek, who remain unbeaten.
Kenya’s other representatives, KPA who had started their campaign with a 3-2 win over APR of Rwanda were no match for home side Esperance who beat them 3-0.
