After a successful and fruitful National Consultative meeting on 19th November 2021, in Kakamega the top tier league clubs agreed with the FKF Caretaker Committee to resume the league on December 4, 2021.
The clubs in attendance were; AFC Leopards, Bandari, Bidco United, Gor Mahia, Kakamega Homeboyz, Kenya Police, Mathare United, Nairobi City Stars, Nzoia Sugar, Posta Rangers, Sofapaka, Tusker, Wazito FC and Vihiga Bullets. Ulinzi Stars and FC Talanta sent apologies. KCB and Kariobangi Sharks were absent without apology.
During the meeting the following resolutions were made:
1. That the County Football Associations fully support the decision of the Minister for Sports Culture and Heritage for invoking article 54 of the Sports Act 2013 (Revised) disbanding Football Kenya Federation.
2.That the County Football Associations fully support the Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee and its mandate.
3.That County Football Associations requests the Sports Registrar to fast track the holding of elections for Counties that have fully complied and are ready to hold elections.
4.That the Sports Registrar considers writing to the Football Kenya Federation Caretaker committee on the correct and true position of the legality and mandate of the County Football Associations as the legitimate sporting organization authorized to organize and run football activities within the geographical entity Known as a County.
5.That the disbandment of Football Kenya Federation was covering its entire structure both at the National, Branch and sub county as it were.
6.That we welcome FIFA's call for dialogue with the Cabinet Secretary for Sports Culture and Heritage.
7.That we urge FIFA to cooperate with the Government of Kenya in streamlining and fast tracking reforms within the Football Kenya Federation.
8.That County Football Association that are in the process of complying, fast track compliance with the Sports Act 2013 (Revised)
A matter arose towards the close of the meeting though not part of the agenda for the consultative meeting, on electing a spokesperson for the County football associations. It's reported that the debate on the matter was heated and divisive. Hopefully the mentioned matters will bring calm to the state of the sport in general since clubs and players alike have been quite patient in this moment.
