Embattled FKF president Nick Mwendwa has been arrested again and taken to Director of Criminal Investigations headquarters for questioning.

Mwendwa’s arrest comes barely 24-hours after the court withdrew the case against him and ordered for a refund of a Ksh 4 million cash bail that was slapped on him last week.

Mwendwa was arrested at Ridgeways and driven to DCI headquarters in Kiambu to be grilled in relation to the ongoing probe into misuse of taxpayers money and abuse of office at Kandanda House.

FKF CEO Barry Otieno confirmed the latest development meaning that his boss Mwendwa, was probably going to spend yet another weekend behind bars.

“Hi colleagues, the FKF president has been arrested and is currently being held at DCI headquarters,” Barry said in a text sent to members of the federation.

On Thursday the high court cleared Mwendwa’s name after Senior Magistrate Wandia Nyamu accepted the request order to close Mwendwa’s file after the prosecution failed to find enough evidence to open a case against him.

Mwendwa was, however, still barred from accessing FKF offices or attending any football-related activities after a caretaker committee was appointed to head the federation offices.
