The midweek round of Premier League fixtures, including Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United, Chelsea’s clash with Watford and Liverpool’s match against Everton are top of the list. United head into the match at Old Trafford on the back of just one win in their last eight Premier League matches, but they did register an important 1-1 draw away to league leaders Chelsea on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will be looking to continue their fine start to the campaign against Claudio Ranieri’s Watford side, who hammered United 4-1 in their last game at home. Liverpool take on Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield, with Rafael Benitez’s side without a win since September to leave them teetering in 14th place in the table.

Newcastle United vs Norwich City:

This is a massive game for both teams. Norwich have turned the corner a little bit with two good results in the Premier League. They did well against Wolves and probably would have beaten them.Norwich have now put themselves in a position where they can afford to just draw this game. Newcastle went gung-ho against Brentford but conceded three goals. They sat back against Arsenal and kept it tight – fair play to them.

Prediction: Newcastle United 2-0 Norwich City

Leeds United vs Crystal Palace:

This game also has an impact on the relegation zone – if Leeds win this game, Newcastle are suddenly further down in the pecking order. Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace juggernaut came to a grinding halt against Aston Villa. Crystal Palace are a better team than they were over the weekend, but Leeds could present a determined front.

Prediction: Leeds United 1-1 Crystal Palace

Watford vs Chelsea:

This is a dangerous game for Chelsea. Claudio Ranieri is not under much pressure at Watford. He knows the Premier League and with the way Watford play, Chelsea’s defense will be tested. Ranieri will open games up in the Premier League this season and you won’t see many draws with Watford’s brand of football.

Prediction: Watford 1-3 Chelsea

Everton vs Liverpool:

I can honestly see only one winner here. If you’re an Everton fan, you’re probably hoping that this game doesn’t get out of hand. There’s only one way Everton can play this game – they’ll put 11 men behind the ball and play on the counter.

Prediction: Everton 0-3 Liverpool

Manchester United vs Arsenal:

United haven’t become a good team overnight. Carrick will take a chance against Arsenal – I’d be shocked if Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo don’t start. They aren’t very good defensively, however, and can’t afford to be too open against Arsenal.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal
