Gor Mahia Secretary General, Sam Ochola has rubbished claims that the club has sold broadcast media rights for the Caf Confederation cup return match against Otoho d'Oyo to Royal Media services.
Initial reports had indicated that RMS through their newest TVstation Ramogi TV, had agreed to air the match, something Gor Mahia's Secretary general Sam Ocholla dismissed.
Ochola while speaking to TeamKenya.co.ke pointed out that he is not aware of any deal despite Gor Mahia media team announcing the said broadcasting deal.
Ochola noted that there was not yet any deal whatsoever as different broadcasters have been approached with offers on how to broadcast the match.
“We are not aware about any deal yet and as I earlier stated we are selling the tv rights at Ksh3 million, but we are communicating with other television stations also.”
“The deal between us and Ramogi is not as there is no official communication from either them or even us. We have written and sent to the top media houses stating we are selling the TV rights at Ksh3 million.”
“Regarding the post on social media we do not know it has come out in the media and whoever posted it is not known to the EC and we have no communication from Royal Media.”
“The move on social media was a naughty move because some of the people running our communication work for royal media so, they are just trying to give them a head start as the guys who work but basically, we are still open to any media company,” Ochola pointed out.
Gor Mahia, will be seeking to turn the tables as they welcome Otoho d'Oyo of Congo at Nyayo Stadium on December 5. Gor suffered a 1-0 draw in Brazzaville.
Gor are in negotiations with the authorities to allow more fans into the stands on Sunday as they seek a win which will allow them to secure a slot in the group stages of the continental showpiece.
