Tusker FC leave the country on Wednesday night for Tunisia ahead of Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup play-off round tie against CS Sfaxien, looking to make history and advance to the group phase of the competition.

The travelling party will depart at 1am to Doha before connecting to Tunis and are expected to land in the North African country at 1pm. They will then embark on a further three hour journey to Sfax, the venue of Sunday’s return tie.

Tusker head out with the opportunity of advancing to the group stages having played to a barren draw in the first leg last Sunday. Any scoring draw in the least will take them through to the group stage for the first time in their history.

The brewers played a training match on Tuesday, their last session before travelling to Tunisia. They faced off with Wazito FC, losing 3-2 at the Ruaraka Complex.

Coach Robert Matano handed 25 minutes each to the team travelling to Sfax while the rest of the squad finished off the match.

Wazito scored the winning goal 10 minutes to time through Musa Masika who scored a pair of headers. Kevin Kimani scored Wazito’s other goal.

Tusker’s goals were scored by Ibrahim Joshua and Lawrence Luvanda.
