Recent rains have forced some of this weekend’s KCB Guru Nanak Rally routes to be changed among other aspects.

The competition was set for the Athi River area before the rains interrupted the organisers’ plans.

The start and finish of the competition will now move to Il Bisil where the race starts at 9am on Saturday.

The Clerk of the Course, for the Kenya National Rally Championship series,Onkar Kalsi confirmed the new plans.

He pointed out that documentation and scrutineering of the rally cars will remain at the Sikh Union Club of Nairobi despite the changes.

‘’The rally will now start from Il Bisil while documentation and scrutineering of the rally cars will be done at the Sikh Union Club. Rains have forced us to change the plans though everything else is in its place,’’ Kalsi stated.

Il Bisil will host two competitive stages that will be done twice. The longest stage will be 60 kilometres with the total competitive distance about 150 kilometres.

The Autocross series has over the years served as a stepping stone to the gigantic Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).

Autocross youngsters Rajveer Thethy and Sameer Nanji are set to make their KNRC debuts during Sunday’s KCB Guru Nanak Rally.

Champion Baldev Chager and leader Carl Tundo will fight for the KNRC overall title in the season ending Guru nanak event.
