After a recent complain from Twaha Mbarak, over FKF Branch officials purported meeting the FKF Caretaker committee held a meeting to give on the foward regarding the issue.

Twaha through a statement on December 13, revealed that former FKF Branch officials would purport to call for a Special General Meeting

he pointed out that the Cabinet Secretary for Sports Amina Mohamed relied on an inspection lawfully conducted and came up with various recommendation  .

Among the recommendations were that investigation bodies DCI, NIS and EACC were to carry out further investigation to establish the extent to which the misappropriation of funds in FKF may have occurred with a view of prosecuting those who may be found culpable.

It was also recommended The current officials of FKF be removed from office to pave way for further investigations pending conclusion.

The recommendations also suggested that a special audit of the books of accounts of FKF be carried out and subsequent frequent future audits.

“It is, therefore, shocking that the former FKF Branch officials would purport to call for a Special General Meeting (SGM) when they don’t exist legally as the Sports Registrar’s office found through the Inspection conducted in October this year.”

“By purporting to call for an SGM, the said officials are still exhibiting the arrogance and impunity towards established Kenyan Law and the Cabinet Secretary’s lawful action to disband FKF.” Twaha Mbarak, Football Stakeholder statement read.

After a meeting on December 14, the Football Kenya Caretaker Committee clarified on issues regarding the stakeholders in football

The committee through a letter by its chairman, Justice Aaron Ringera (Rtd), called upon all clubs and associations to ensure that they fully comply with the requirements of the Sports Act to be able to run football activities at the grassroots.

Football clubs have been advised to deal with branches and associations that are compliant and where in doubt to verify this information with the Sports Registrar.

The Committee stated that they would shortly embark on grass root tours across the country to engage clubs and football stakeholders with a view to streamlining all football activities at the grass root level.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all County Associations, Branches and any other organisation running the affairs of football are subordinate to the caretaker committee.”

“The Committee is available to clarify any issues and all stakeholders can reach us on email: info@fkfcaretaker.co.ke ,” part of the statement read.
