After dominating the African Rally Championships (ARC) Equator Rally over the weekend in Naivasha, Carl 'Flash' Tundo has now shifted his focus to the main event which is the WRC Safari Rally in June at the same venue.
Tundo, who defied the harsh weather conditions and muddy terrain to secure his win in the race over the weekend, and believes he would have performed better were it not for the tough competition from second-placed Onkar Rai.
Having won six out of 11 stages, Tundo was full of praise for his rally car, which is the same that will be used at the Safari Rally in June.
The All time rally driver believes that the natural terrain will serve as a home advantage to the local drivers at the main event in June since they already familiarized with the entire area at the Equator Rally.
The Service Park is currently complete as it awaits to host the historic WRC in the midst of the global pandemic. The 4 day event will see over 2500 rally participants ,managers and government officials all assemble in Naivasha for the competition.
Carl Tundo is now looking forward to putting up a performance at the WRC Safari rally as he is currently preparing with a high intensity ahead of the main show.
