The soccer fraternity in the country is yet to come to terms following the death of a super fan, Isaac Juma, who was synonymous with Kenya's cheering squad.

The 56-year old Juma has been a passionate football fan who religiously supported the national team Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards since 1980.

Juma’s love for football began at a young age where he used to sneak out of school to attend various football matches.

He used to be seen dancing shirtless with his upper body painted, during major soccer matches and other popular sporting events.

"I would hike lifts from buses headed to the city or where the match would take place and whenever my team lost, I felt much pain that I would not even take a meal that day."

In November 2010, Juma received the Kenya Premier League Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his passion and love for football.

Juma visited over ten countries while supporting the National team Harambee Star including Nigeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Guinea among others.

He used to attend the matches with his hair dyed to resemble the specific team he was supporting at the moment, whereby well wishers would fund his travels and other bills.

"It is my love for AFC Leopards that drives my passion and energy. I do not get paid for the same, not even a cent. My travelling is mostly supported by Molo Line matatus whose management gives me free transport anytime I want to travel," he stated in a past interview.

Besides his love for football, Juma was a newspaper vendor in Nakuru Town and would at times grace different national celebrations like Jamhuri Day, Madaraka Day, and Labour Day.
