The win cements Al Duhail’s second place on the standings, seven points behind high flying Al-Sadd, who have two matches in hand.

Olunga’s two goals took his tally this season to 19 goals, a whopping seven more than Ghanaian international Andre Ayew, who turns out for Al-Sadd. Algerian Baghdad Bounedjah comes in third position with 11 goals.

In Belgium, Joseph Okumu was in KAA Gent’s starting line-up in a top tier league match against Club Brugge.

Playing in defense, Okumu helped Gent to a 2-1 win away from home. Brugge are ranked third on the log while Okumu's Gent rose up to sixth with 40 points from 26 matches.

In Thailand, Ayub Timbe Masika was in Buriram United’s starting lineup against Prachaup in the Thai top tier league. Buriram, playing at home, surrendered a one-goal lead to lose 2-1.

Masika was withdrawn in the 64th minute, just moments before the away side got its equalizer. Prachaup went on to get the winning goal in the 85th minute.

Later today, Joash Onyango could feature for Simba in the Tanzanian Premier League. Simba faces Mbeya Kwanza at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

On Monday, Eric Ouma and Henry Meja, who feature for Swedish top flight club AIK, will be in line for a place in the starting lineup against Zenit in a friendly match.

Brian Mandela could also feature for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League in South Africa against Chippa United tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in England, newly signed Zech Obiero will be hoping to make his senior debut for Leyton Orient when they face Exeter in a League Two match.
